On November 27th, 2013 Paywast, Afghanistan’s first mobile-based social networking outlet, launched Afghanistan’s first smartphone news app called Paywast News in association with Khaama Press-Afghanistan’s largest online newspaper- and Wadsam.com-Afghanistan’s First Business News Portal.

The Paywast News app will enable 800,000 Afghans who have smartphones in the country, and millions of users around the world to have access to the latest political, business, entertainment and sports news from Afghanistan and the world in both Dari and English. The application is designed and built to download and store news articles as soon as they are published on Khama Press or Wadsam.com.

In an interview with Wadsam, Jes Kaliebe Petersons, Paywast Business Development Director, said, “Almost as excited as we are about the app itself, we are very happy to be able to offer Paywast News for free. Along with our news partners, Khaama Press and Wadsam, we have worked hard on building an app that provides quality content, a beautiful design and an intuitive interface.”

Paywast News is available on iTunes App Store and Google Play and is free to download and use. The app can also be downloaded from http://news.paywast.af or by sending an SMS – App to 729 from an AWCC, Etisalat or MTN cellphone.
