Paywast participated in the Social Good Summit event which was hosted by UNDP in the organization’s compound in Kabul. Paywast was invited to the meetup as a premier social media organization in Afghanistan which has dominated the SMS-based social networking market since early 2011.
Social Good Summit was launched in more than 200 places around the globe from Beijing to Nairobi and Kabul to Juba. The Social Good Summit was pioneered jointly by, Mashable, 92Y, Ericsson, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the UNDP. This year, the Social Good Summit received an unprecedented level of international participation and attraction thanks to support provided by the Summit’s two newest partners, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the U.N. Development Program.
Held from September 22-24, the Social Good Summit brought together a dynamic community of global leaders and innovators throughout the world to discuss the power of innovative thinking and technology for solving humanity’s greatest current and evolving challenges.
Paywast as one of the pioneers of such innovative thinking in Afghanistan was at the center stage of UNDP sponsored meetup in Kabul which was held on September 24, 2012. The main theme of the Kabul meetup was “How can new media and technology create solutions in your community?”
Mr. Abdul Sabor Mobarez, one of Paywast IT experts represented the organization in the meetup which brought together high level officials of the Ministry of Communications and IT with representatives from social media companies and technology firms around one table.
