Paywast sponsored a taekwondo event in Kabul in the month of November 2012 as part of its desire to promote sports in Afghanistan by creating public awareness about a variety of sporting event for youth. During the taekwondo championship selection, Paywast organized a live interaction program via SMS to receive viewers’ comments about taekwondo players and display them live on a screen inside the gymnasium where the championship took place. Thanks to Paywast sponsorship, the taekwondo championship was held under the auspices of the Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation to select 32 best players for the national taekwondo teams from among dozens of taekwondo playing men and women participating in the event. Players in each team were selected in eight weight categories. The teams’ selection occurred during a tremendous show of athletic skills and demonstration of kicks, breaking boards and other eye catching movements after several years of silence and inactivity in the league.
Paywast has undertaken many other similar initiatives to promote education, sport, healthy social dialogue and youth athletic and entertainment programs with the aim of creating positive social and behavioral changes in the society.
