Paywast, Afghanistan’s first and largest provider of social media signed a contract with AECOM to provide SMS, short message service, for Subat Project on October 21st, 2014. Subat project was one of the biggest projects of AECOM that was launched in Helmand province to connect people with their governor and county executives using SMS and I.V.R so people could convey their problems to the governor’s office.
Helmand residents would call the dedicated phone lines and leave a message with their complaints. Then the messages would be listened to and the problems solved.
AECOM with the help of Paywast used Payam services and dedicated phone lines for each district. People’s complaints and problems were aired on local radio stations and people with a lot of interest sent their messages.
Paywast had the technical responsibility of Subat project for 6 months. This project took place in Nad Ali, Garmsir, Nahri Saraj counties and Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province.
